In cPanel, use Database Wizard or Manage My Databases to create a MySQL or MariaDB database. Menu names can vary with your panel language and version.
- Open the wizard in the Databases section and enter the new database name.
- Create a separate user with a strong password. Keep the complete names shown by cPanel, including any account prefix.
- Grant the privileges your application needs, then complete the wizard.
- Enter the database name, user and connection settings in your application configuration, then check that it works.
With Manage My Databases, create the database and user, then link them using Add User to Database. The wizard handles this association during setup. Follow the limits displayed in your panel: they depend on the database engine and account prefix.
